Aspirations of A Mouse

Is someone going to get offended when I say I am not aspiring to be the guy who gets on the high speed line with only one shoe on.

And then puts his shoe on all the while looking at the blue insole sitting next to his retied black sneaker.

Or when his face perks up as he has spotted a freshly vacated seat and mutters Sorry as he weaves his way through standing riders to sit down?

That is the life of Mighty Mouse?

I am not saying it is the life that is not necessary to live.

Obviously it is necessary to be that guy.

For that guy.

And for the comfort of everyone else in the car.

But what if Mighty Mouse did take the train with everyone else.

Would they be upset knowing he can bend an iron bar?

Get hit by the rail car we ride in going 300 miles per hour?

Why is he even riding today?

Cape in the wash?

Tights got a hole?

Mouse food ration less on an odd day?

No sirree, Mr. Normal does NOT like accomplishment.

Cause it reminds him that his life of twinkies and Pabst does not "make the grade."

It is not what "all the girls like."

Or at least the girls that have a discerning eye.

Not that lady over in the nurse's outfit.

The one that should be pregnant but is not.

And is playing some fruit maze game on her phone.

Just like 75% of the masses in this rail car.

Playing fruit games and riding rail cars is what makes the appearance of Mighty Mouse irk everyone.

They do not want to be reminded that there are hills to climb.

That are well within their capabilities.

But from which they run.

That devil's food cake and Brats is not a good sandwich for clean living.

Nope.

Everyone can have heroes on TV. They do not live with you and run in the same park.

They are NOT HERE. They ARE THERE.

I can't be that.

I can only be a member of the herd.

And I can never hope to utter:

"Here I come to save the day!"
