New, G-Series chillers utilize low GWP, natural refrigerants for fluid cooling
Aspen Systems, LLC, the worldwide leader in miniature refrigeration and energy efficient cooling systems is excited to announce the launch of its G-Series Liquid Chillers—a new line of compact, eco-friendly fluid chillers ideal for small-footprint, low voltage cooling applications. This innovative series of liquid chillers includes four models: LCM-600G, LCM-650G, LCM-900G, and LCM-1400G, each designed to provide efficient and reliable cooling throughout a wide range of industries.
The G-Series chillers, operating within a 12-48 VDC range, offer cooling capacities from 100 to 1400 watts and feature a variable-speed DC compressor. Engineered with durability in mind, these ruggedized chillers are optimized for performance in industrial, medical, and military applications where compact, high-efficiency cooling is essential and often mission-critical. Under nominal conditions, each model in the G-Series delivers a remarkable Coefficient of Performance (COP) of 4, allowing the chillers to reject four watts of heat for every watt of power consumed. The low power requirements and overall efficiencies position the mini chillers to provide cooling in the battery powered and mobile electronics applications that have emerged in mobile communications and electric vehicle technology sectors.
These new, eco-friendly cooling systems utilizes R-290, a natural refrigerant with low Global Warming Potential (GWP), supporting environmental responsibility while maximizing cooling capabilities. Additionally, each chiller in the series uses less than 100 grams of R-290 refrigerant, ensuring compliance with IATA (International Air Traffic Association) UN3358, Special Provision A103 regulations for safe air transport.
“Aspen’s G-Series reflects our commitment to sustainability and technical excellence,” said Greg Martel, General Manager of Aspen Systems. “Our engineering team has crafted a product line that meets high-performance standards while prioritizing environmental stewardship. By incorporating R-290, a natural refrigerant with low GWP, we’re enabling customers to achieve exceptional cooling power with a significantly reduced environmental impact.”
Martel continued, “Our G-Series Liquid Chillers represent a new frontier in cooling technology, demonstrating that high-capacity cooling can be both compact and eco-friendly. This product line is a game-changer for anyone needing powerful, reliable cooling in space- and power-constrained applications.” Manufacturing of the G-Series liquid chillers has already begun in Aspen Systems’ Marlborough, MA USA facility and will be available for large-quantity orders in late 2024.
