Aspen silently declared Trump the main threat to the national security
This year the security forum in Aspen Institute Colorado defined Putin leadership as main topic. But actually the threat inside was Trump. And the threat outside was again Trump.
The conference in Aspen is a place for dialogue on ?premier national security and foreign policy matters in the United States, a conference about the threats and challenges that is facing the United States and the world. The forum is attended by many strategists, diplomats and elites discussing the world security issues, international relations, world conflicts, climate and technology. This year guests were also the Secretary of State Blinken and ?Jake Sullivan, tha national security advisor to the President Biden.
In Aspen Sullivan said about Ukraine “we took the risk”. That is all about Ukraine, it is a risk, that was worthy and very profitable as it appears later in the speeches of the other participants from MI 6 and CIA. The head of MI 6 Richard Moore, who is ex UK diplomat in Turkey, and very close friend of Erdogan, said that 400 Russian spies, working for the diplomatic missions in different European countries, have been expulsed from Europe, and another diplomat, ex ambassador of the USA in Moscow and CIA director Burns declared that the US human spy network in China, that was damaged 10 years ago, now was recovered. Very strange announces. Having in mind recent actions of the Chinese government against the same spynetwork that arrested dozens of suspected individuals of Chinese and other nationalities, including an executive at Japanese drugmaker Astellas Pharma in March 2023.
China also recently in July expanded the?law for counter espionage and encouraged all the citizens to join the spy network and to report any suspicious activity and reward them for that work. The new point in the law is expanded ban of transfer of information it sees related to national security, for which ?United States warned that foreign companies in China could be punished for regular business activities. The United States, back then when the law was adopted, declared that have concerns about the great expand of the scope of what activities are considered espionage. Having in mind that in the USA also has no clear view what activities are espionage and when journalists are accused of espionage for publishing information like the case of Julien Asange, it is not surprising that the Chinese agencies also approached the same way to the theme. And now coming that declaration from Aspen that the network is recovered and active, that could alarm the Chinese government to arrest anyone for anything. That is how it works in a totalitarian control. Stalin has killed 20 million people under that alleged suspicion.
The forum demonstrated aggressive tone against Russia and Putin, and more moderate attitude against China. The most interesting is how these two individuals Putin and Trump became interchangeable in the eyes of the American and international security establishment and governmnet officials, current or ex. ?Not only because Trump sympatised the Russian President.

The possible return of Donald Trump to the Oval Office, even avoided by the participants of the forum, showed clearly the attitude of the security people. All the questions about Trump were no comment at the forum and diverted to different topics. As if Trump is the main threat to the security, also their own. How exactly could be defined the security threats if Trump is in power and has totally different approach to the national interests abroad and inside the country. The whole concept of national strategy implemented today lose ground if Trump takes the White house.
Asked about if he was worried that?Trump would withdraw the U.S. from NATO, U.K. Foreign Secretary James Cleverly replied: “That’s one of those wonderful, wonderful questions that invites me to say something that gives you a good splash. Just letting you know: I’m not going to do that.”
And what could happen if Trump retuns to power for Ukraine. One of his impeachemnets was about the stopped military aid ?for Ukraine. Ukraine current existence depends entirely on the military and financial support from the West. That could stop under Trump. If Trump reigns the country the security issues will turn a totally new page that no one from Aspen dared to touch.
