ASL BPO Participates in Sales Leadership Training Event by Innovate Skills

With a focus on strengthening leadership skills while providing opportunities to network with peers and renowned industry experts, Innovate Skills made a great effort to arrange a day-long “Sales Leadership Training Event” at Club89 Ltd., Gulshan 1, Dhaka.

The proud sponsors of the event included MY Outsourcing Limited and the Society for Leadership Skills Development (SLSD). Over 25 professionals took part from esteemed companies: Daisen Technologies Ltd., SkyTech Solutions Ltd., Synergy Business Solution, ASL BPO, and others to make this event successful.

Mr. Mohammad Sifat Bin Amin, the country manager of SEIKAI International FZCO-UAE in Bangladesh, conducted the training and motivated the attendees by sharing tidbits of his career experiences.

As the honorable guest of the day, Dr. Zareen Delawar Hussain, founder of Integro Pharma Ltd., added prestige and significance to the occasion with their amicable presence.??

ICT-Leaders Seeking Policy Support on the Proposed National Budget 2024-25

While the extension of the tax exemption period by 3 years was approved on June 9, 2024, in the fiscal year 2024-25, ICT business experts have sought policy support from the Government of the People’s Republic of Bangladesh at the BASIS auditorium in Dhaka.?

During the press conference, some of the honorable faces in the ICT sector were diligently present to express their concerns and raise practical solutions, which involved:

• Russell T. Ahmed, BASIS president?
• Wahid Sharif, BACCO president?
• Md Emdadul Hoque, ISPAB president?
• Syeda Ambareen Reza, e-CAB vice-president?

The focal appeal points of the event included:

• Tax exemption for 5 years instead of 3 to encourage the growth of Bangladeshi IT and services companies.
• Eliminate the possibility of a 1% import duty for investors in hi-tech parks and continue the duty-free benefits, subject to discussion with the National Board of Revenue (NBR), Bangladesh.?
• Withdrawal of VAT and duty imposed on all materials used in the IT sector, inclusive of 10% Advance Income Tax (AIT) on broadband internet service providers, 37% VAT & duties on ONU, OLT, and proposed 5% increase of supplementary duty on the use of mobile SIM cards.?

DCCI proposes that the UK to import more from Bangladesh, focusing on BPO

Being the 2nd most significant foreign investment source for Bangladesh, with $3.04 billion FDI stock, the Dhaka Chamber of Commerce & Industry (DCCI) president, Mr. Ashraf Ahmed, convened a meeting with the British High Commissioner to Bangladesh, Sarah Cooke.

In the presence of DCCI’s vice president, Md Junaed Inba Ali, along with the esteemed Board of Directors (BOD), bilateral discussions on prioritizing trade and investment relations between the countries took place at DCCI Gulshan Center in the capital.?

Mentioning the export-import figures for the fiscal year 2022-23, Mr. Ashraf encouraged the initiation of G2G agreements while also referring to the promising economic prospects of partnership in finance, healthcare, fin-tech, BPO, BPS, tourism, and education.

Joint venture partnerships to transfer technical skills in ICT, architecture, and healthcare, as well as discovering new focus on exports other than RMG, were also the subject matters of the meeting.?
