Asking for Some Help

Asking for Some Help

Hi there!

I don’t want to bother you if, say, you hate books. But over the past two years, I've been working on my newest project - Alive at Work, published by Harvard Business Review Press. The book focuses on the brain biology making so many people feel that work is a “four letter word” – and what we can do about it.

Alive at Work comes out March 27, 2018, and I am hoping to create some momentum around the book before then. Join me @DanCable1, where I'll be tweeting about the ideas.

If you think you might be willing to help me create momentum, I'd be enormously grateful. In case you're up for it, any of the following would be really helpful.

1) If you'd be willing to tell others about the book launch via your social media networks. You could edit this post below to let your Twitter/Facebook/LinkedIn network know about the book:

·       My friend @DanCable1 just released a book about getting more living out of life and work. Pre-order "Alive at Work." https://amzn.to/2AkGjdO

2) If you think you might buy the book, thank you! And if you’re ordering it anyway, it would be incredible if you would pre-order (this helps booksellers gauge demand and is an early show of momentum). You can do it by clicking here: https://www.amazon.com/Alive-Work-Neuroscience-Helping-People/dp/1633694259/ref=sr_1_1?s=books&ie=UTF8&qid=1505480380&sr=1-1&keywords=alive+at+work+cable). I’m going to offer bonus stuff like videos of some of the people in the book, and some talks by me, for people who pre-order. Just email me your proof of purchase by the end of March 26.

3) And whether or not you're a pre-order type, if you plan to read the book, it'd be super helpful if you'd be willing to write an honest review of the book on Amazon or your favorite online book review site (Goodreads, Barnes & Noble, etc.). That provides 'social proof' to let others know the book is worth checking out.

Maybe you have other ideas? For instance:

·       Maybe you would like to order copies for your team (HBR gives huge discounts for bulk purchases)?

·       Or you run a conference where you book speakers?

·       Or you write for a publication and would like to discuss the book or do an interview?

·       Or you have friends in high places who can help me create some momentum?

·       Any other ideas? Let me know what you think.

Thank so much – I’m very grateful for all your help and support.

Dan
