On May 13, I will be participating in the Orange Effect Foundation’s 100 Holes of Golf Marathon Challenge.? The OEF is a charitable organization dedicated to funding speech therapy and devices for kids who would otherwise go without.? Many of these kids are autistic.? I’m hoping I can count on your support.?
?Here are a few bullets on the event/org:
- OEF typically distributes about $30,000-40,000 in funding each quarter and have funded devices and therapy for kids and families in all but three states! We rely on fundraising events like this to continue our mission.
- The need is far greater than our means. We get far more applications for help each quarter than we can fund, which is heartbreaking. In order to increase our ability to give, we need to raise more money.
- I am a mediocre (at best) golfer.? It might seem like a ‘fun day’ to play 100 holes of golf, but keep in mind, it has rained almost every time we’ve had this event and after about 3 hours and 36 holes, the ‘challenge’ gets pretty real—we will be on the course, rain or shine, for 11-12 hours. This is literally NOT a walk in the park.
- Being a mediocre golfer means more value for my donors!? Since I will have to take more strokes to finish every hole, your dollar goes further on a per stroke basis.? Not like those lousy scratch golfers who will finish under par! Winning!
