Asking God for Wisdom
"If any of you lacks wisdom, you should ask God, who gives generously to all without finding fault, and it will be given to you." - James 1:5 NIV
In today's world, we are bombarded by a multitude of voices and opinions. From media platforms to educational institutions, it can be challenging to determine who to trust and what to believe. It’s important for us to develop discernment.
We must be careful about who and what we listen to. We need wisdom that comes not from this world, but from God.
We often receive advice or influence that conflicts with God's plan for us. Even though most people can tell right from wrong, the complete wisdom that truly helps us live our calling can only be found through our personal relationship with Jesus.
The Apostle Paul tells us in Ephesians 4:17-19 that before we knew Jesus, we were lost, confused, in darkness and far from God. Sadly, many still live in this state today, not understanding the truth and not following God. This disconnect from God's truth is why Paul's words to the Ephesians remain so pertinent.
When it comes to our personal decisions, why should we follow the world’s way of thinking if it doesn’t bring us closer to God? Instead of being swayed by fleeting and often shallow advice or opinions, we must seek the wisdom found in the Scriptures and ensure our decisions align with God's will for us.
Strive to turn away from misleading voices and tune into the wisdom that God provides through the Bible and prayer.
