Ask Zeus - your Conversational AI based Lightning assistant

It gives me immense pleasure to announce that our first Generative AI based conversational assistant in Xweather Insight is live now and keeping our customers engaged. “Ask Zeus” - is the lightning assistant that would help you to understand the annual lightning data as well as generic lightning related information. The conversational AI feature integrated in the Protect module of Xweather Insight enables customers to ask questions and also connect the queries with visualized data on the map. It also provides users follow-up suggestive questions and also allows users to rate the answers.?

Like every other company, we have been quite enthusiastic about the new GenAI technology from the very beginning and invested in learning and productizing it for our customers' benefit.?

?Lessons learnt in the process:

1. It is difficult to keep up with a fast evolving technology which invalidates everything we knew a month earlier. So, it is important to keep the focus and design an architecture which is future-proof.
2. Experimenting with new technology for the sake of learning needs to be time-boxed and focus should be on applying the technology where we can have business value.
3. Any company needs to invest heavily on fine tuning the LLM with own proprietary data and that requires continuous investment. This means systematic investment decisions to be made looking at the possible business value.
4. It is important to go to the market as fast as possible to get early customer feedback. However, it is also about achieving certain quality level so that it stays meaningful and interesting to test.
5. And finally, solving the challenges of the weather domain to the level of accuracy needed is not a trivial job.?
