I am starting a series more for my professional social media on "Ask and You Will Get It Series" for questions posed to me by my patients in my day-to-day clinical practice.
So starting today is a question on
Can Acupuncture work towards Gastric Problems?
My answer:
Yes definitely acupuncture can help with gastric problems. But first a good TCM doctor should be able to make a proper Western Medicine diagnosis of the gastric problems such as gastritis, Irritable Bowel Syndrome, H Pylori flora imbalance etc. Then he or she should also make a Traditional Chinese Medicine diagnosis of the gastric problem whether it is coming from excessive coldness, excessive dampness , weakness of Stomach and Spleen, Liver blockages or stagnations. The doctor should then be able to use the diagnosis and formulate a treatment plan from there. Treatment modalities can span from acupuncture, herbal medicines and many other methods depending on the individual conditions.
