There's no shame in asking for help when you need it.
If you don't know something ask.
If you don't know how to solve a problem, speak to a manager, a colleague, a coach.
Everyone was there at one point in their career.
Everyone struggled once and wished they had someone who could have helped them.
You'll be shocked and amazed when you ask for help, and you'll be pleasantly surprised at how willing people are to give aid and support.
As a leader, I am nowhere near perfect, and not only do I appreciate someone who can help me progress, but I also love the opportunity to help others progress as well.
“Although many of us think asking for help makes us look weak or incompetent, the reality is that it can make you look good as long as you show that you've attempted to resolve your own challenges first,”
- Tallia Deljou
The more you ask, the more people will help and the more you'll excel.
The common misconception is that asking for help is a sign of weakness. This couldn't be further from the truth.
People are inherently good and want to see you succeed. Asking for help is a sign of courage and a sign that you're committed to succeed.
Don't be shy, don't self doubt or self sabotage. Put yourself out there, own your strengths and your weaknesses and leverage the most powerful professional tool & resource at your disposal... your network.
