An effective internship results in two things. (1) A young talent is positioned and poised to dive into the work with a fresh perspective. (2) The employer uncovers shortcomings that were observed during the intern's learning curve. If both parties zoom into the second point to find an opportunity to improve the company, the intern can essentially create his/her own role within the organization.
