Ask Approyo: Oracle and SAP... What's the big difference?
Recently Oracle acquired NetSuite. With this announcement, many people have been asking, what’s the big difference between Oracle and SAP? In fact, I was recently featured in an article on Talkin Cloud about whether MSPs should offer Oracle and SAP. In the latest edition of Ask Approyo, I discuss some of the major differences between Oracle and SAP.
Oracle
With the recent NetSuite acquisition, Oracle is making in-roads to the SMB market. The problem is, Oracle is not a true cloud based company. Oracle restricts you in one cloud, the Oracle Cloud only. Oracle tends to be a hodgepodge of several different applications from recent acquisitions. This makes for a complicated core solution.
SAP
SAP allows you to go to multiple clouds, whether it’s the SAP Cloud, Approyo or another SAP partner. This way have more options available to you. Additionally, SAP has made some similar acquisitions in the marketplace. Unlike Oracle, these acquisitions are add-ons to the core solution. SAP has been built from the ground up through years and years of expertise.
