VistaJet’s Memberships Quadruple in Japan

VistaJet has experienced remarkable growth in the Asia-Pacific (APAC) region, with Japan emerging as a pivotal market.

VistaJet’s network connects Japanese clients to international hubs like Hong Kong, Seoul, Shanghai, and Beijing, as well as domestic routes between Tokyo’s Haneda, Hokkaido’s New Chitose, and Nagoya’s Chubu Centrair Airports. Long-haul destinations such as Los Angeles and San Francisco also rank among the top 20 departure points from Japan, highlighting the increasing demand for global connectivity.

Sino Jet to Set Up Middle East International HQ?

Hong Kong-based private jet management and charter specialist Sino Jet is expanding outside of its native Asia by opening up a new international headquarters in the Middle East.?

Sino Jet made the announcement during the 2024 Middle East Business Aviation Association (MEBAA) biennial exhibition held recently in Dubai.?

It may come as a surprise that one of Asia’s top maintenance networks launched its first service center in Lanseria, South Africa. That company is ExecuJet MRO Services, wholly owned by Dassault Aviation and supporting not just its Falcon line but other leading business jet brands, as well.

Known for its fighters and business jets, Dassault long had strong service in Europe and the U.S. But as business grew in Asia, it knew it needed more regional capability. It acquired ExecuJet’s maintenance arm in 2019, rebranding it ExecuJet MRO Services, and named one of ExecuJet’s founders, Graeme Duckworth, president. Duckworth from the beginning was managing director for maintenance.

I am sitting in the back of a taxi on the way to the Hong Kong Business Aviation Center (HKBAC) with the driver listening to the news. Towards the end, the news anchor reminds Hong Kong that tonight will be a mega jackpot in Mark Six, Hong Kong’s lottery.

Whilst my mind wanders off into thinking about what I could buy, it comes quickly back down to earth thinking about what I couldn’t buy. One of those things would be the $75 million dollar jet that I am about to get onto, the other, as the old adage goes, is time.

Whilst the rest of the world began to slowly lift their Covid restrictions, Asian countries took a more cautious approach, especially mainland China, which was one of the last countries to open its borders again.

With China shut, and large-scale gatherings largely frowned up, the organizers of the annual Asian Business Aviation Convention and Exhibition (ABACE), which had been held in Shanghai every year, had no choice but to cancel the event. The most recent ABACE was held in 2019, since then the show has not run again.

At the end of Q3 2024, some 435 Global 6000s and 6500s were in service with commercial, government and military operators worldwide. North America had the largest based fleet with 135 Global 6000s and 63 Global 6500s, representing a 46.0% global share. Europe had a 31.0% based fleet share with a total of 110 Global 6000s and 26 6500s. A total of 43 Global 6000s and 6500s were based in Asia-Pacific, while the Middle East and Latin America & Caribbean regions each had a based fleet of around 20 aircraft.
