Asian Heritage Month | Cooking Dumplings with Chef Haan

Asian Heritage Month is about celebrating the contributions and achievements that our friends and colleagues of Asian descent offer to our culture and society. Our diversity is our strength and it’s important to celebrate! So today, we gathered together, both virtually and at the Purpose office, to make some delicious dumplings. ??

We're lucky enough to have a prominent Toronto chef on our content team who, as an ode to his Taiwanese heritage, taught us two of his famous dumpling recipes and took us through the creation process step by step.

Haan has cooked all over the world including in Singapore, Paris, and Stockholm, and won Toronto Life’s best new restaurant in 2020 and Le Fooding’s best new bar/resto in Paris in 2015.?But, I'm sure he'll tell you that today's dumpling class was a highlight of his culinary career. ?

We made our dumplings into crescent moon?? shapes, which symbolize prosperity and the promise of a bright future. And based on today's events, it seems like a few Purpose employees have a bright future in the dumpling-making world. (Looking at you Claire Vaughan and Malika Soin.)
