?? Dubai sets a target for 25% of transport in the city to be self-driving by 2030. Mattar Al Tayer, Director-General and Chairman of the Board of Executive Directors of the Roads and Transport Authority in Dubai pointed out that the RTA has made significant progress in its journey towards achieving the vision of the wise leadership to make Dubai the smartest city in the world, with the current percentage at 9.4 per cent…. Have you seen any self-driving cars in Dubai yet??
Qatar ????
?? Qatar did it…. They won the AFC Asian Cup 2023 by defeating Jordan 3-1 thanks to a hat-trick by Akram Afif. The atmosphere in the Lusail stadium in Doha was incredible which we were able to enjoy first hand. Qatar managed to defend their title which they won in 2019
Oman ????
?????? To recognise and celebrate the impact of educators, Teachers’ Day, 24 February has been declared an official holiday for all educational bodies in Oman. As that day is a Saturday and part of their weekend, schools have been given Sunday, February 25 as an official holiday.
Saudi ????
↗? As expected, Riyadh Season did give tourism in Saudi a huge boost. Between the end of October and end of January 17 million visitors came to Saudi across all regions. The topic this year ‘Big Time’ is indeed very fitting with the offering of different events including the Riyadh Season Cup’.
?? Saudi Arabia’s Ministry of Justice accepting applications from foreign law firms to practise in the Kingdom. Already 15 law firms have been approved while additional 15 are being reviewed at the moment.
?? Saudi experienced the largest growth in international tourist arrivals in 2023 compared to 2019 among major tourism destinations, the Saudi Press Agency reported. Compared with the tourist numbers before the pandemic the Kingdom achieved a remarkable recovery rate of 156%.?
?? And how exciting to be able to go skiing in Saudi: yes, Raffles Trojena luxury hotel will open in NEOM by 2027.
?? There is a new NEOM MDLBEAST beach club in the making. Sindalah, the luxury seahorse-shaped island, is collaborating with entertainment giant MDLBeast.
Sindalah Beach Club is the first of its kind to open in Saudi and will be a hub for exciting events and immersive experiences. MDLBEAST (the annual festival called Sound Storm in the Desert) will be managing the luxurious beach club on the Island.

?? Tipping… a world wide topic and nobody knows exactly how to address it. Tipping is not customary in Dubai and the wider UAE but it is considered common practice. It is an “unwritten rule” at restaurants to tip between 10 percent to 15 percent of the total bill. However, this is mostly subjective based on “customer satisfaction.”
