ASDIP WOOD Composite Lumber – New Feature
ASDIP Structural Software
Software for structural design of building components such as beams, columns, retaining walls, footings, base plates.
Design professionals utilize ASDIP WOOD software for the structural design of wood members. A new feature has been added to the software to include the design of Composite Lumber sections. The following is a brief description of this new feature in ASDIP WOOD.
Composite Lumber sections
Now all the three modules included in the package have a new section type button in the Geometry tab for Composite Lumber. When this button is clicked, a new combo box is presented to specify the Composite section type per manufacturer, as shown below.
Database or User-defined
ASDIP WOOD includes a full set of databases for section properties, as well as material properties. Alternatively, this information can be entered manually as user-defined. This will provide a great flexibility to the use of the software.
The material types included in the software are Sawn Lumber and Glued Laminated. Now Composite Lumber engineered materials, such as as LVL, LSL, PSL, have been added, so the corresponding databases will show up when this section type is specified.
