Highlights from the ASDC membership survey
Our first large-scale data gather across the sector took place in Spring 2024. Following the April Members' Forum where we shared the initial results, the final dataset is now out and has been shared as an interactive report with each of the 34 organisations who input their data. The survey results are also available to view by all ASDC members on request.

On Wednesday 17th April Chas Bishop , ASDC trustee and CEO of the National Space Centre , gave evidence at the Science, Innovation and Technology Committee Inquiry discussing how we can make UK Astronomy more diverse and inclusive.

ASDC programme 'Destination Space' lives on
The long running ASDC national programme Destination Space, funded by UK Space Agency, made an appearance at British Science Week this year, showcasing the resources that are still having an impact across the UK.
ASDC awarded five science centres with small grants to provide support for delivery of Destination Space themed activities during Mars Week and British Science Week during March 2024.?

National Astronomy Meeting abstract submission is open
The?Royal Astronomical Society (RAS)?is proud to present the National Astronomy Meeting from 14-19th July 2024 at the University of Hull. The National Astronomy Meeting (NAM) is a significant annual conference for astronomers and serves as the main yearly gathering for the society. It’s one of Europe’s largest astronomy conferences, attracting around 600 delegates.

Six ASDC members awarded funding for Space for All projects
The UK Space Agency will fund 15 projects across the UK designed to engage and inspire the next generation into STEM careers, including five ASDC member science centres and museums Armagh Observatory & Planetarium , Glasgow Science Centre , International Centre for Life , Royal Observatory Greenwich, Techniquest and National Partner Institute of Physics .
Guidance for science centres to support teachers in delivering sustainability across the curriculum
Conor Jon Ellis , Learning and Engagement Director at Dynamic Earth shared his advice for Tes Magazine, exploring how Dynamic Earth embeds Learning for Sustainability as a national priority, and how science centres can support teachers across Scotland in delivering impactful learning for the planetary emergency across the curriculum.
University of Glasgow signs MOU with Glasgow Science Centre
The 英国格拉斯哥大学 has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with Glasgow Science Centre which will help promote public engagement with science.?The agreement will increase opportunities to promote science within communities across the city, and facilitate greater coordination of existing public engagement programmes.?
The The Royal Society and EngineeringUK survey shows decline in access to hands-on science
The latest results from the Science Education Tracker,?looking at attitudes towards science subjects, has revealed that despite 71% of students in years 7–11 wanting to do more practical science in schools (68% across years 10–11), access to hands-on practical work has declined.

The British Science Association in partnership with UK Research and Innovation (UKRI) are producing a collection of essays and perspectives on the ways that communities and researchers work together.
