ASCP: We're a Cool Mom

Today is ASCP’s 53rd Birthday. As a society with a strong focus on aging, it’s easy to think that we might be slowing down, telling dad jokes, and having hot flashes. But while our mission centers around promoting healthy aging, and the calendar shows we’ve made another trip around the sun, at our core we have a vibrant, innovative, and entrepreneurial team.

You see, as an “aging” society, we’ve got to combat a lot of stereotypes. Namely, that just because we help patients who are older, doesn’t mean we—our members, our leadership, and our staff—are stuck in the past. At ASCP, we try to honor our history and founders, but also focus on bringing our members into the future. We effort to adopt new technologies, test out creative strategies, and make sure our branding expresses our style and culture in a memorable and meaningful way.

I hope that by being a contemporary aging organization, we might help people envision aging in a different light and be inspired by a membership organization that’s striving to lead by example—even in its 53rd year.
