Dear Ascend Members and Supporters,????????

Everyday I celebrate the richness of our heritage and May is the month to do that exponentially. While the ripple effects of the past few years can still be felt, signs of restoration and hope are everywhere. As I’ve traveled the country in 2023 to meet with our members, supporters, and chapters, I’ve witnessed firsthand the power, intent, and collaborative spirit of our network.

That spirit emanated over the weekend at our first in-person Pinnacle Summit since 2019. Current and aspiring corporate board directors shared powerful stories and engaged in rich discussions about the future of the boardroom. This dynamic group left inspired by the connections that were made and energized about how we can advocate for the next generation of board directors.?

Celebrating and amplifying the positive impacts of leaders has always been a core tenant of our work. At our Ascend A-List Awards, we recognized the contributions of 30 incredibly talented honorees and debuted a bold new brand refresh that will carry us into the future. We reaffirmed our mission and vision and paired it with a modern visual identity that honors the ways in which our organization has grown.

As a continuation of the work we launched in 2020 to combat anti-Asian hate, we hosted the #AscendTogether Global Forum to reflect on the tragic mass shootings in Monterey Park, CA and other senseless acts of violence which plague our country. These acts further reaffirm our commitment to leading with empathy and fostering a sense of belonging and community for all.

Looking ahead, I gathered our board in March to kick off 2030 strategic planning. I am excited for what’s to come as we focus on enhancing the member experience throughout the career lifecycle and deepen our relationships with our corporate partners.

Our May calendar is packed with many interesting gatherings so please stay tuned. I look forward to seeing you at our various company events, speaking engagements, and other festive celebrations.

Most importantly, we hope you feel proud of the work we’re doing to support the future. This heritage month, let’s continue to celebrate Asian excellence and leadership. Working together in a spirit of collaboration and excitement, there is nothing we can’t achieve.???????
