ARVORE at SXSW and GDC - Lots of knowledge and opportunities!

It’s 2023 and we’re fully back on the road presenting ARVORE’s new projects at Various events. After touring YUKI MR to CES and MWC in collaboration with HTC, we continued showing our latest mixed reality project during the Official Selection of SXSW.??

YUKI MRcade time @ SXSW

In the course of 4 days, we received many VR, Entertainment, Tech, and innovation professionals trying out our latest demo. It’s always great to get direct feedback from the industry and be able to learn lessons for future projects in development. In general, SXSW turned out to be a great platform to present to the international market which a focus on the US and Brazil (which had a delegation of 2000 people).?

After an exhausting but satisfying trip, it was time for us to head over to San Francisco to attend GDC.

ARVORE was present with 7 people this time as we were active on multiple fronts. We were demonstrating Pixel Ripped 1978 to the press, presenting YUKI MR with HTC at their off-site location, and lastly, we were having meetings to advance on conversations for upcoming titles. Most of the meetings take place in the hotel lobbies around the convention center, which makes for a lot of ping-ponging between hotels.?

At the convention center, to our pleasant surprise, we encountered a huge presence of VR platforms such as Meta and Pico on the show floor, but also the successful VR developer Resolution Games with printed ads for DEMEO literally all over town.?Walking to the show floor you get to see a bunch of interesting games but also innovative technological solutions to up our game development and marketing efforts.

We as a company had lots of fun and things to learn during these days. We had the opportunity of getting even closer to our friends at Atari when showing everything Pixel Ripped 1978 had to offer.

Ana Ribeiro (Creative Director), Kleber Pessoa (QA Coordinator), Luisa Paes (Narrative Designer) and R?mulo Silva (GameDev) heading to GDC day 1

Also in this learning side of things, we had two of our folks focused on getting all the knowledge they could! Our game dev R?mulo Santos Silva and our narrative designer Luisa Paes (she was there thanks to the amazing sponsorship she got from the diversity program on Abragames, which by itself was already a big achievement) made sure to bring a lot of knowledge home from fellow great minds at GDC.

It was a hugely successful trip that was made possible by the amazing teams of SXSW and InvestSP. Getting to events like these always makes us realize how the industry is getting bigger and bigger, and being able to be part of all this sure is a privilege!
