Arvest Total Rewards: Investing in Our People
By Michelle Van Schenck, Executive Director of Total Rewards
Arvest is powered by talented associates who work day in and day out to create a modern workplace that is regularly and nationally honored as one of the best and most inclusive places to work. We are proud of that! And one of the many ways we celebrate this is by going above and beyond in how we reward associates for everything they do.
Our Total Rewards program is not just a standard package of compensation and benefits. It's a comprehensive investment in our people, unique to Arvest. We go above and beyond to enhance the associate experience and promote a healthy work-life balance. This program is designed to make our associates feel valued, appreciated, and cared for in both their professional and personal lives.
What is Total Rewards?
Total Rewards combine monetary and non-monetary incentives an Arvest associate earns. So, in addition to an individual’s base salary, a total rewards package at Arvest includes the combination of benefits, market competitive compensation and bonuses, and extras associates receive, including recognition, workplace flexibility, career development and training opportunities, and much more. Adapting to the Changing Workplace
The benefits landscape constantly evolves, and we understand the importance of adapting to these changes. For instance, the nature of work has shifted, and companies must evolve to keep up. Arvest fully embraces remote work for strategic reasons and to meet future workforce needs. Our executive leadership is committed to making remote work available where practical and possible. As part of our Total Rewards, we recognize that associates appreciate the flexibility that remote work can provide, and we are committed to supporting their well-being.
Listening to Our Associates
Benefits offered through Arvest are carefully researched, benchmarked, and surveyed to ensure that we remain competitive as an employer of choice and provide a range of offers and opportunities to meet the needs of our associates and their families. Our most recent Associate Engagement Survey shows that 80% of our associates report successfully balancing their work and personal lives.
Part of why such a high percentage of associates are satisfied with their work-life balance is that Arvest listens to associates. For example, ArVets, an Associate Impact Group (AIG) under the Diversity, Equity & Inclusion (DEI) initiative, identified a need to better support active military associates who are called to duty for training or leave. Recognizing why and strategizing how these associates should be offered improved paid leave led to a broad change in Arvest’s military leave policy. A new, more supportive program was put into place as a direct result of associate feedback.
What sets our offerings apart is that the Total Rewards team takes a broader, more holistic view of what matters most to associates and relies on direct associate feedback to guide how and what rewards are provided. This approach allows Arvest to meet associates' needs wherever they are in their different life stages, making them feel heard and valued.
Providing benefits and additional resources, valued service partners, and opportunities that matter most to associates ensures that the bank's offerings are meaningful, impactful, and life-changing.
Going Above and Beyond
Total Rewards is cited as one of the many reasons associates choose Arvest as their employer. More than 70% of Total Rewards offered at Arvest are fully paid, free, or discounted and are available to everyone, including full-time and part-time associates. These rewards are valued at over 30% of an associate’s pay. We raise the bar through our dedication to the well-being of our people. In addition to competitive compensation and full pay transparency, paid time off, and benefits, associates have volunteer opportunities to further our commitment to our communities.
We deeply value our associates and are committed to giving them opportunities to pursue their professional interests internally – whatever they might be. As a result, over 40% of Arvest associates remain employed at the bank for over a decade.
