Artitalia Group—Contributing to the Fight against the COVID-19 Pandemic

Montreal-based manufacturer Artitalia Group Inc. is helping support front-line workers in the battle against the COVID-19 (coronavirus) pandemic by donating more than 66,000 sets of newly-procured medical supplies to several hospitals in Montreal and Italy.

It is donating 40,000 medical supplies, which include face shields, KN95 masks and latex gloves, to the Jewish General Hospital, Santa Cabrini Hospital, Maisonneuve-Rosemont Hospital, Pierre Le Gardeur Hospital, and the Montreal Children’s Hospital.

The company, which serves clients in the Retail, Hospitality and Restaurant, Material Handling, and Mail and Parcel sectors, is also donating an additional 26,000 sets of medical supplies to hospitals in the Italian region of Campania.

“As a family business and as a socially responsible community organization it is important that we come together as leaders in our community and unite with purpose to help decrease the spread of this pandemic, for our associates, our partners, and more importantly, for our community, who are working relentlessly to ensure our safety,” said Tony Vardaro, President of the Artitalia Group.

“We need to continuously support each other during this crisis, and we applaud those who are doing their utmost to provide health care support. Artitalia Group Inc. will continue to do its part and we are available to help during these trying times.”

The company, which has been in business for more than 35 years, has offices in Canada, the United States, and China. It employs more than 500 employees in facilities that total 1.2 million square feet.

In recent weeks, Artitalia has been active in the fight against the spread of the coronavirus by pivoting its business to include the design and production of protective safety shields, checkout lane hygiene shields, barriers, material handling and specialty carts for processing, mailboxes and parcel lockers, and foot door handles - all designed with the intention of protecting clients and the community.

“During these difficult times, we want our associates, vendor partners, client partners, and our entire community, both locally and internationally, to know that we are constantly thinking about them during these difficult times and doing what’s best for everyone in our community,” said Enzo Vardaro, Senior Vice-President and Chief Commercial Officer.

“We have diverted our manufacturing capabilities to produce these custom products for our partners. We understand their concerns and we are continuously supporting our partners to ensure their health and safety.”

Artitalia has been working with federal and provincial health authorities and governments to ensure a safe work environment during this time. It has implemented health and safety measures that include social distancing, increased sanitation, and reduced the number of entrances to ensure the health and safety of employees.

It has also created care packages that include one face shield, one KN95 mask, and two pairs of latex gloves for its associates and their families as well as for their client partners.
