Artisan Makes Shortlist for Developer of the Year in UK-wide Property Awards

Artisan Real Estate’s commitment to ground-breaking and sustainable development across the UK has been recognised by being nominated for ‘Developer of the Year’ in the upcoming UK Property Awards, organised by Property Week.

Taking place in London on 13th June, the Property Awards are widely recognised as the property industry’s most illustrious celebration of nationwide talent, expertise and development success. The Developer of the Year shortlisting acknowledges the significant progress that we have made in recent years, with 2022 being described as ‘the most successful year in the company’s history.’

During the past 12 months, Artisan has witnessed the completion of a range of commercial and residential developments - as well as the development of major planning applications in Glasgow, Edinburgh and Shipley, focusing on transforming complex gap sites in sensitive urban locations into homes-led mixed-use quarters.

Welcoming the award nomination Jaco Jansen, Artisan’s Chief Executive Officer, said: “Artisan has witnessed significant progress across our UK-wide commercial and residential portfolios during the past year, and I’m delighted this has been recognised by our industry peers with this prestigious award nomination.

Following a stellar 2022, we now have an unparalleled opportunity to move forward with major investment in pioneering complex mixed-use and residential developments which have the potential to transform urban communities across the UK, making a fundamental difference to how people live their lives.”?

Projects successfully delivered in 2022 included the completion of two major ‘historical’ city centre redevelopment projects - Everard’s Printworks in Bristol and Custom House in Glasgow – and the official opening of the UK Government’s HMRC regional office hub at Artisan’s £150 million New Waverley development at the heart of Edinburgh’s Old Town.?

Development projects currently underway include an ambitious planning proposal to transform a vacant office block on the edge of the Salts Mill World Heritage Site in Saltaire, Shipley, into a vibrant 11-acre residential quarter and riverside park.??

Artisan is also progressing with a planning application for high-quality student accommodation at 292 St Vincent Street, Glasgow, while in Edinburgh the company is managing consultation prior to submitting a planning proposal for the homes-led redevelopment of the former Deutsch Bank House at 525 Ferry Road, one of the city’s largest development sites.
