Artificial Intelligence...It's Heartless

How often does someone search the internet for the type of product or service you provide?

Unless you offer something very exclusive, the answer is likely thousands - maybe more. Every second of every day people are searching for something!

This is why every business needs to be easily found. That's where Search Engine Optimization comes in. A good writer knows how to research "how" people are searching for what you're offering.

Now AI has a great jump on this because SEO is essentially an AI function.

So your AI writing generator certainly knows what words to use to draw in potential customers.

Great! So your website and perhaps landing page should get plenty of hits, but that's just the beginning.

As soon as someone finds you, automation needs to kick in and respond to who they are and why they're looking.

An ad that shows what you can do is pointless, they've already checked out your website. They know what you're offering.

A landing page could be a great start, but again if someone really searched your site they may have already seen that.

You need to show what you can do for THEM. That means you need to know who your potential customer base really is. What are they looking for? What problem are they trying to solve? Or what are they trying to improve in their lives?

Copywriting is so much more than just words. It's heartfelt words, words with an understanding of WHY people need your solution.

And yes, AI is great with words, but AI doesn't understand emotions. And that's where most purchasing decisions are based.

Honestly, 20 years ago AI may have been ideal for creating advertisements, describing products or services being offered and making it sparkle...but even then Artificial Intelligence is just that...artificial.

The internet has given us a vast network of information at our fingertips - but what will draw customers to you vs "the other guy" is the personal touch.

We don't need AI to regurgitate things we can find out on our own.

Customers want more than facts and figures, they want to know what your product or service will do for them. How will it suit their needs? How will it make their lives better? How will it make them FEEL???

And how will you back it up? Do you support your product? Provide a guarantee?

So perhaps it's an ad you're running. After all, something has to attract viewers...the ones who aren't even looking yet but would benefit greatly from what you have to offer, they're the ones you really want to draw in!

But that's just the beginning. Email is the next step.

Everyone knows that sales can be improved by email follow-ups, right?

Maybe an enticing free webinar, showing how what you offer can fill their needs, or an abandoned cart response - did you leave because you were interrupted or had a change of heart, or upsells based on what's already been purchased...

Can AI have the intuition to respond intuitively and figure out the difference?

A mechanized response will be a total turnoff just like so many automated messages that are ignored and trashed without reading.

AI is a great tool to build a skeleton of words, but a good copywriter will bring those words to life and make it personal for your customers.

AI is a tool.

Adding emotion to that tool is the spark that can set your message on fire.

You want to influence your market? You want to make a splash and have people "see you"?

It's not hard to figure out what people are looking for. but it is hard to be real enough to offer them a solution that really works!

You are right. AI is heartless. People buy from people. Not AI generated content. There are many good AI tools. But, I am reminded of the scripture in Isaiah 10:15. Shall the axe boast itself against him that heweth therewith? In other words, don't let the tool overcome the personal approach.
