Artificial Intelligence Won't Pave The Way To Collective Wealth

Artificial Intelligence Won't Pave The Way To Collective Wealth

If we really want things like "equality and equal opportunity" we're going to have to change our attitude. Mainly in how we treat one another. We're going to have to invest in our relationships, which are completely egoistic at the moment. Tech is not going to level the playing field as long as we're still operating in the current system, which is a flawed system.

And #AI is definitely not going to help close the social gaps in society as this "self-made millionaire and CEO of investment firm" would like us to believe:

Self-made millionaire: ‘A.I. will be the biggest wealth creator in history’ CNBC "Artificial Intelligence tools can be your next source of income if you take advantage of them," says Matt Higgins of RSE Ventures . "It's going to destroy barriers that prevented people from moving up the ladder, and pursuing their dream of economic freedom."

So millions of people will be able to get rich using these new tools, right? Wrong! Josia Nakash startup consultant :)

How can you use AI right now to get rich in his expert opinion? Freelance work, getting a startup off the ground, and AI tutoring - for teaching people how to make the most of AI tools. Since there are literally millions of people in each of these sectors - or should I say there were millions before AI - now that number has probably multiplied in a crazy way thanks to all the hype around AI. So it's probably harder to move up in these areas than before. So much for tech paving the way to social change. That's not the way change is going to happen. Change will only begin when we all agree that we need to shift our attitude to all these things.

By the way this CEO who teaches business at 美国哈佛大学 also says "whatever you want to spend on, will be cheaper in a year or two", and calls sports investing 'recession proof' . "When we go through downturns and things get dark we need 'affordable indulgences' (like Starbucks) - and it will be dark for 18 months."

Another wealthy individual saying -

  • "things will just bounce back to how they were before"
  • "the current system is awesome - you just need to do this and this .... "
  • "if you just cut your expenses during this tough period - everything will be fine. You can buy things up for cheap afterward ....

Another wealthy individual assuming that everyone has money to put aside like he does. And also assuming that people have enough money to cover their basic expenses at this point, which many don't.

The Other Side of the Coin

There are some intelligent people putting all this AI business in perspective - and this is absolutely the right attitude since we're only at the beginning of this process and don't even really know what AI is capable of yet. At this point we don't even have a clear direction of where all this is headed.

I'm an AI software engineer and I predict that most AI startups being funded today will die - Business Insider "An AI engineer says most people don't understand what AI can really do and what it can't, yet..... Those working in AI understand when startup claims are realistic and when they're mostly hype."

David Peterson shared in today's Angular Ventures newsletter: "Almost every founder we talk to these days is building something powered by AI. Many of these founders are talented. But they’re working on ideas that are either too small, too obvious, or both. Lured by the capabilities of LLMs, they’re working on ideas that are “of the moment” rather than building boring solutions that people want to buy."

We're transition from our current value system of money, control and respect to making human values a top priority.

The bottom line - using AI tools or investing in a startup that's labelled itself as an 'AI startup' doesn't mean instant wealth. And this is precisely the difference between the previous era that was all about money, control and respect, and the future era we're heading into where we need to take the needs of the collective into account.

In a nutshell - we're transition from our current value system of money, control and respect to making human values a top priority. There we will also have money, control and respect but in a mutual manner rather than an egoistic. Nothing in our world will actually change except our attitude to one another and living by these new values. And it's a perfectly natural process that when our attitude changes it immediately gives birth to new values.
