Artificial Intelligence is the trending thing in Freight & Logistics sector

Lets talk about the future and what technology can provide for us. You believe, it is here, and we're living. We will work in the future. People are on the cusp of flying cars and delivery drones that will soon be dropping packages from the sky right.

Well, okay, let's not get too ahead of ourselves in this fast Freight Five.

Let us cover the five freight and logistics trends to know there is a bit more realistic than those flying cars and will most likely happen soon.

So let's give you five things real fast.

1-More cloud in TMS (Transport Management System)

The cloud-based systems are all the rage in software these days, and the TMS market is no exception.

Beyond the obvious savings of not investing in equipment and servers, shippers benefit from the speed at which a cloud-based TMS can react to changing customer demands.

Other benefits include automation of the routing guide management-by-exception, real-time insight visibility into the ordering and shipment process, and of course, the ever valuable improving communication with customers.

2- Data-data everywhere.

Thanks to integrations and mandates, as more customers demand real-time track and trace capabilities and vehicles produce more dynamic data from their electronic logging devices or ELD and other on-vehicle systems. The opportunity to attach these data streams to the TMS increases.

3- After data naturally comes analytics.

The capacity to analyze data with more sophisticated and accessible tools, including artificial intelligence, will create a wave of better decision-making for many shippers. The ultimate answer is the need for greater supply chain agility, and technology for visualization and benchmarking is making its way into operational teams to enable more agile supply chains.

As the data quality increases, artificial intelligence can further accelerate supply chains by using data to improve carrier selection to identify new sources of products, classify products for global trade more quickly and more.

4- Greater flexibility with the rise of API.

Shippers will have more flexibility in the future as well as speed thanks to the rise and API rating via a TMS connected to carriers in several modes. Some like easy post said in supply chain 24/7 call it elastic logistics.

Elastic logistics are less than permanent in a sense instead of building a steel warehouse a company might rent a storage building or use a mobile container truck.

Is it a temporary shipping base of operations?

For these to work well you need real-time data, and strong shipping management API-s

5- A bigger focus on people

Thanks to technology, the trends in freight logistics are highly technology-influenced.

However, thanks to automation and platforms like TMS can take care of exceptions and improve the ease of managing Freight and collecting and analyzing data. New developments in the future will see a bigger focus on people. This includes 3PLS and shippers collaborating and looking at more strategic partnerships to get results for shippers.

It also includes shippers and freight brokers working with carrier partners to negotiate better freight contracts or work together to reduce delays and damage.

No the robots aren't coming to take our jobs in the immediate future, although we would take a robot to take care of our chores.

But technology is only a way to not do the boring route error-prone work.

So we can all focus more on what will move the needle for each of our companies.

What trends do you think the industry should focus on in the future? We don't know.

To sum up what we speak above.

These technological trends are shaking up all the industry of transport.

The technology has rapidly progressed in the last decade, giving a new way of thinking in the Freight & Logistics sector.

All these multiple advances in computer - based technology in the future will have an impact on the industry and its daily operators.

Artificial Intelligence can go a long way, and this will allow trucks and shipping vessels to operate without human tracking.

VR and AR can be used in different aspects of this industry also drones technology is not new and it's been developed before to help operators in processing their business.
