I am in agreement in respect of the utility of the socio-political and political economic lineage that you outline, Ferdie. At the risk of being adversely branded one may even invoke the thesis + antithesis = synthesis logicum. This largely resonates with me and my notion of contextual balancing. It also presents a reasonable way of understanding the contradictions inherent in the complex relations between technology, society, culture, economy, and the political… again perhaps this could be described in terms of a dialectic or dialectical outcome(s).
