I started AI (Artificial Intelligence) IBM Mainframe Tuning Applications, Cost Reduction Applications, and ABEND Prevention Applications in 1980. The very first AI programs were quite simple, but some very much better time savers and more accurate than humans...lol.
I was the Installation Manager and Custom Modification Manager for the Largest Payroll, Personnel, and Benefits Software Vendor in the World at that time.
We had a computer data base containing over 100,000 resumes of computer people all over the United States, Canada, Puerto Rico and Mexico.
I needed to hire 10 Computer People and it would take a clerical staff 2 weeks looking at a computer screen and reading 1 resume at a time looking for the qualifications and experience I needed and printing the resumes I might be interested in. Taking 2 weeks of time for 4 people full time was unacceptable. The four people being unfamiliar with technical terms just plain missed many very qualified candidates.
I wrote a program to read the entire data base in order to search 100,000 resumes trying to find certain candidates with the qualifications I needed to hire without reading through them by hand. The program would ask for a list of qualifications I was looking for and then read and compare every character in every line of every resume and set aside only those resumes that contained every qualification that I needed. If too many resumes were set aside I would just add an additional qualification until I had a small group of very qualified candidates.
The program was able to do a much better job in 4 hours than 4 people working full time for 2 weeks.
AI (Artificial Intelligence) isn’t difficult to understand. The way to make it work all you need is a tremendous amount of comparative data, keeping the very best results until the answers you get are better and faster than you can do by yourself.
Over the years I have collected BILLIONS of Files, Jobs, Programs, Data Bases, Systems, and The results you will obtain when improving them. When you do that you can identify with 95% and 99% certainty that what you found will be an improvement way above what you have been doing....LOL. Doing this not only saves thousands of hours of human analysis, but millions of dollars of Computer Power Costs as well.
