Artificial Intelligence: Primer Concepts

The ability of computers or machines to accomplish various jobs has increased exponentially since their introduction. Humans have increased the power of computer systems by expanding their working domains, improving their speed, and minimizing their size over time.

Artificial Intelligence is an area of computer science that aims to create computers or machines that are as intelligent as humans.

1.1. Artificial Intelligence: A Basic Concept (AI)

It (AI) is “the science and engineering of producing intelligent machines, especially intelligent computer programs,” according to John McCarthy, the father of Artificial Intelligence.

Artificial intelligence is a technique for programming a computer, a computer-controlled robot, or software to think intelligently in the same way as intelligent humans do. AI is achieved by first understanding how the human brain works, as well as how humans learn, decide and work when attempting to solve a problem, and then applying the findings to construct intelligent software and systems.

Human curiosity led him to ask, “Can a machine think and behave like humans?” while utilizing the power of computer systems.

As a result, AI was created with the goal of achieving the same level of intellect in robots as we admire in people.

1.2. The Importance of Studying AI

AI, as we all know, aims to create machines that are as intelligent as humans. We should investigate AI for a variety of reasons. The following are the reasons:

  • Data can help AI learn: We deal with a lot of data in our daily lives, and the human brain can’t keep track of it all. That is why we must automate the processes. We need to investigate AI for automation since it can learn from data and perform repetitive tasks accurately and without becoming tired.
  • AI has the ability to educate itself: Because data changes often, a system’s ability to train itself is critical. Knowledge generated from such data must also be updated on a regular basis. Because an AI-enabled system can train itself, we can employ AI to achieve this goal.
  • Artificial intelligence can reply in real-time: Artificial intelligence can evaluate data more thoroughly with the help of neural networks. AI can think and respond in real-time to situations based on conditions thanks to these capabilities.
  • AI achieves precision: AI can reach incredible accuracy with the help of deep neural networks. In the sphere of medicine, AI aids in the diagnosis of diseases like cancer using patient MRIs.
  • AI can help you arrange your data so you can get the most out of it: For systems that use self-learning algorithms, the data represents the intellectual property. We require AI to index and structure data in such a way that the best results are always obtained.

1.3. Deciphering Intelligence

Intelligent systems can be created using AI. We must comprehend the concept of intelligence in order for our brain to develop another intelligence system that is similar to itself.

1.3.1. WHAT IS INTELLIGENCE, EXACTLY?

Calculation, reasoning, perceiving relationships and analogies, learning from experience, storing and retrieving information from memory, solving problems, comprehending complicated ideas, fluently using natural language, classifying, generalizing, and adapting to new conditions.

1.3.2. INTELLIGENCE TYPES

According to AI and Human studies, Intelligence occurs in several forms. A few examples of intelligence are as follows:

When a machine or a system contains at least one or all types of intelligence, it is said to be artificially intelligent.
