Doctor Paul A. Pavlou?is the recently appointed Dean of the University Miami Patti and Allan Herbert Miami Business School. He is also the Leonard M. Miller University Chair Professor. His research has been cited more than 95,000 times by Google Scholar, and Thomson Reuters recognized him among the?“World’s Most Influential Scientific Minds”?based on an analysis of Highly Cited Researchers.???
Formerly, for the past five years, he led the C.T. Bauer College of Business at Houston as Dean and the Cullen distinguished Chair Professor.??At Bauer he worked on building strong relationships with industry which resulted in?nearly 100%?of students being placed in high paying jobs upon graduation?—?he plans to transfer this model to the U. Prior to Houston, Doctor Paul was Senior Associate Dean for faculty research, doctoral?programs?and strategic initiatives at Temple University. He also served as the Milton F. Stauffer Professor and co-director of the university wide Data Science Institute.????
Paul, who has over 25 years in academia and research,?was ranked No. 1 globally in publications in top Information Systems journals from 2010 to 2016. He earned a Ph.D. in Information Systems and a master’s in electrical engineering from the University of Southern California, and a bachelor’s in electrical engineering and managerial studies, magna cum laude, from Rice University.? He hails from Cyprus and?came?to the US on a Fulbright scholarship.?
