As you know, The Summit Chauffeurs is ready to embrace new technology, especially if it aids us in our provision of excellence, and makes the guest experience all the better. Artificial Intelligence, despite having emerged into business in the 1980’s is still relatively new to many, CEOs included.

Although your business has undoubtedly adopted AI in most departments, with teams no longer remembering what the days before it were like, CEOs (and I include myself) still have a long way to go before we fully understand the technology and how it can help us.

What is AI?

Put simply, AI is the application of computer systems to detect patterns and make predictions in the same way a human would – but with a reduced rate of error and at a significantly higher processing speed. AI aims to make computers think and communicate like humans.

Three ways a CEO can apply artificial intelligence in their business

The possibilities are endless! But here are some of the invaluable applications as identified by Business Reporter:

High level report summaries: why decipher the reports made by officials yourself when AI can give you a summary in seconds?

Growth prediction: Looking at the trends and customer behaviour from your company analytics, AI can identify the weaknesses and strengths in your customer process, assisting you with strategic planning and forecasting.

Competitor analysis: To stay on top of the game, you need to keep an eye on the other players, and AI programmes will find out what marketing tactics are working for your competitors by monitoring news, social media and website content to detect patterns in their customer interactions.

When is artificial intelligence of no use?

As CEO of The Summit Chauffeurs, I already use AI in chauffeuring to support how my clients can reach us, how they can manage their accounts and how my chauffeurs can monitor traffic and flights, for example.

But there is one crucial time when AI is of no use at all… Humanity is and always will be the pinnacle of excellent service.

This is my opinion, but it has been backed up numerous times by many CEOs from scores of industries.

Self-driving cars may get you there and back safely, but they can never shield you from unwanted attention, won’t understand your ethics and support your mission, can’t provide first aid or the sudden need for bodily protection – but a human can – this human can – and so can all my human chauffeurs.

To coin a popular phrase, this intelligence isn’t just artificial, it’s human intelligence, combined with AI making us stronger and better on every journey.
