I hope LinkedIn and Jolie don't mind me using their spam to kick this off. As you can see, the email above arrived in my inbox after business hours yesterday.

Truth, I agree that

  • Skills are your AI advantage.
  • The future of work needs your humanity.

I also agree with Sam Jacobs post yesterday that read, "Buyers still want to talk to salespeople." Not all buyers, but enough for now.

10 years ago, HubSpot interviewed a friend of mine that said "3 of 4 Sales Reps Have No Idea What They're Doing ". That was based on a study of 21 Sales Core Competencies in over 2 million salespeople. If you look deeper into the data, you'll discover that 6% of salespeople are “elites” who are great at selling. Another 20% are doing well but could do better. Things haven't changed. The great are great. The lousy are lousy.

Now, look at my profile picture. I'm as old as dirt. This is not a problem that I'm gonna have to deal with, professionally. I may have to deal with it when I buy something and have to get around dealing with AI or a crappy salesperson, but I'm good at that and will continue as I have, but you salespeople that are marginal will struggle competing with AI and elite salespeople if you don't pay attention to Darwin and Spencer . (i.e. - Survival of the fittest or survival of those who best adapt to their environment.)

This is what my Joint Venture with Christopher Rocas is about. Finding the people that want to get to the 164th Floor

  • Regardless of the crappy stereotype created by other salespeople

Chris and I are looking to evaluate 100 reps in September to help them understand the Insights into their Sales Core Competencies. It's a 2-3 hour process spread out over 7 days and it costs $1,000 and if you pay attention and want it bad enough, it could change your life.

We should limit using of AI. AI should help us with doing laundry and cleaning the house so that we can focus on creative work and sales.
