Artificial intelligence has begun to make its way into all areas of our lives, and in this case, we’re talking about marketing. There are already many interesting ways that AI is being used in marketing to make the process faster and more effective, and there will be even more in the future. Here are five examples of companies that are using artificial intelligence in their marketing efforts today, whether they know it or not!

1) Artificial intelligence can be applied to almost any business process.

In addition to data collection and analysis, artificial intelligence is good at making recommendations and detecting patterns. Most businesses can benefit from using some form of artificial intelligence, but social media marketing (SMM) may benefit most due to its speed-focused nature. Social media trends are often in a constant state of flux. While some social networks begin to lose popularity as time goes on, others may become popular very quickly or have strong loyalty-building qualities (such as Instagram). Businesses that operate across multiple social media platforms need to stay on top of these changes by continuously collecting data on audience preferences and behaviors. Manual observation isn’t an option here—it would be impossible for any company or individual to manually monitor every aspect of their social media presence without falling behind quickly!

2) Artificial intelligence (AI) is already a reality.

To be sure, AI is already a big deal in social media marketing, but it’s not just about bots. The biggest benefit to marketers from artificial intelligence might be a potential ability to better understand their customers and what makes them tick. Imagine if you could know more about your customers and also have that information updated in real time based on new behaviour or preferences. The possibilities are virtually endless, but one thing is certain: If you aren’t monitoring how AI impacts your industry, it will happen whether you pay attention or not. It’s up to you to determine how you will participate in using and developing artificial intelligence technology. How will your brand embrace the trends in social media marketing and what is your role going forward?

3) Machine Learning can assist online businesses in better targeting their customers.

Machine Learning can assist online businesses in better targeting their customers.

It’s no secret that online businesses collect a large amount of data about their customers and target them with specific offers based on individual profiles. For example, when you sign up for an airline or hotel website, you'll see advertisements or emails tailored to your specific travel needs. That's all thanks to machine learning! But what is machine learning exactly, and how can it help improve your business's profits? Here are just a few ways machine learning could improve your business's bottom line.

4) Make your own product suggestions.

There are several platforms out there designed to automate product recommendations. A startup called Curiousmatic, a Y Combinator alum, has used machine learning and A/B testing to turn its recommendation engine into a kind of search engine that helps e-commerce sites improve conversion rates by showing users items they actually want to buy. (As opposed to, Hey, you might like these!). The tool isn’t something any business can use—you have to sign up with Curiousmatic and get access—but it provides an example of how AI can be applied to achieve specific goals. It also underscores just how quickly machine learning is moving into all facets of our lives.

Can you tell an influencer from an ordinary blogger?

Some people talk about bloggers and influencers interchangeably, and while technically both groups are influencers with big followings, there are some important differences between them. Basically, an influencer is anyone who has a following; it could be a YouTube star with millions of subscribers or a mommy blogger with 10K followers on Instagram. The key is that these people have influence; their opinions matter because they have influence over their audience's purchasing decisions.
