Article IV, Section 4 and Republicanism as the US National Interest

Article IV, Section 4 of the Constitution of the United States stipulates the US Government is to guarantee a republican form of government to the States. This is among the few Checks and Balances the US Government has on the States. Article IV, Section 4 authorizes the US Government to get involved in the internal affairs of a State where Republicanism ceases to exist or is under threat. The two greatest threats to Republicanism are invasion and insurrection.
I was clear on this in the past. I will be clear on this again. Democracy is not the same as Republicanism. Democracy is not synonymous with Republicanism. Democracy and Republicanism stand juxtaposed in opposition to each other. Democracy and Republicanism are in diabolical opposition with one another. Measures like voters voting on Ballot Measures, Referenda, and Initiatives are democratic in nature. These democratic measures are antirepublican.
Article I, Section 9, Clause 8 prohibits titles of nobility in the United States of America. This constitutional provision prohibits any establishment of aristocratic or privileged class. The intention is to prevent the division of the people into upper classes and lower classes. It was intended to prevent elected officials and prominent individuals from coming under foreign influence through titles and gifts. Aristocracy and titles of nobility are antirepublican. Privileged classes of people are antirepublican.
We see as well in Article I.9.8 anybody holding office of profit or trust for the United States cannot accept any present, office, or title from a foreign power without specific Congressional authorization. The expectation is those who serve in government would not be influenced by foreign powers. The Founding Fathers desired those in public service serving and/or working for public office would not have their loyalty to the United States compromised by the wealth of specifically European Nations. Gifts and emoluments from foreign powers are antirepublican. It is graft and political corruption. Gifts and emoluments from foreign powers are and remain a threat to Republicanism.
A common criticism against the Antebellum South was over the monopoly of economic power and political power held by the wealthy plantation owners. It was widely observed starting in the 1820s through to the end of the Civil War the wealthy plantation owners held a monopoly on the land, property ownership, natural resources, and on Politics & Government in the South. The Republican Party referred to the slave power conspiracy in the Antebellum South, often using the term, Slavocracy.
The Founding Fathers and Framers of the Constitution observed Republicanism and a republican form of government prevent the concentration of political power and authority into the hands of a few wealthy families. They observed further Republicanism and a republican form of government would prevent aristocracy and oligarchy. They warned aristocracy would arise and emerge from within the individual States. This happened in the Thirteen Colonies before the American Revolution. This happened in the South as younger generations of Southerners took over after the American Revolution and extended slavery into the Mississippi River Valley and later into Florida and Texas. Prior to the Civil War, younger generations of Southern plantation owners dotted the Antebellum South with plantations. The wealthy Southern plantation owners purchased numerous slaves to work their plantations.
The Radical Republicans of the Civil War and Reconstruction especially viewed the Antebellum South and Confederate States of America as antirepublican and contrary to the US Founding Principles. Not only they desired and sought to abolish slavery in the South as Abolitionists. But, they sought to undertake a regime change in the South after the Civil War. The Radical Republicans took their prerogative from Article IV, Section 4 for their Reconstruction policy for the South. They saw it as their objective to restructure Southern society from aristocracy and oligarchy to Republicanism aligned with the Constitution and US Founding Principles.
Recovery of US History and republican mission "will annex a new... greater power to our existing stores of power" to serve the good of humanity, "reaping new garlands for the people." We could and should complete "the great task begun by the fathers of the Republic and continued by the Republicans of the Reconstruction." Our aim is "to dedicate and rededicate" the United States of America "to the cause of liberty" (Forrest Nabors, From Oligarchy to Republicanism; University of Missouri Press [2017], 328). This cause of liberty is Republicanism.
Human nature often operates in a cycle in Politics & Government. Most of humanity is under tyranny. Government gets despotic and oppressive. People revolt against tyranny, leading to revolution. If revolution is successful, government gets overthrown. The loss of government results in the absence of law and the absence of political power and authority. The overthrow of government results in the absence of social and political order. The people are in a state of anarchy. Competing political groups emerge out of anarchy. These competing political groups compete for political power and authority. Competing political groups competing for political power and authority lead the people back into slavery and tyranny.
The late Dr. W Cleon Skousen (1913-2006) explained the political cycle of human nature as a pendulum. Ruler's Law, tyranny, is on the Left of the political spectrum with 100% power and authority. The absence of political power and authority, Anarchy, is on the Right of the political spectrum. Human nature is the pendulum swinging Left and Right between tyranny and Anarchy. Revolution swings the pendulum from Ruler's Law on the Left to Anarchy on the Right. Counterrevolution or competing political groups swing the pendulum back from Anarchy on the Right over to tyranny, Ruler's Law on the Left.
Republicanism stops the political cycle of human nature and diverts the political course of human nature in a line forward and upward. Republicanism stops the political pendulum at the Balanced Center between despotism and Anarchy. Republicanism balances the desire for liberty and the necessity for political order. Republicanism is the proper balanced between allowed liberty and the need for stability and political order. Republicanism protects the people against the abuse of power from aristocracy and oligarchy in removing these influences. Republicanism protects the individual from the majority and mob rule in protecting individual rights and the liberty of the minority.

Donald Trump and MAGA are certainly correct when they say we have a uniparty. We certainly have a uniparty in the United States of America. The uniparty in the United States of America could be described with one word. That uniparty is a singular political party we could describe as democracy. It is the democratic uniparty. It consists of the Democratic Party and the Republican Party cult known better as the Trumpublican Party. The democratic uniparty fields at least six competing Presidential Candidates in the 2024 US Presidential Election. They are fifty shades of Karl Marx and fifty shades of John Calhoun all in one kettle.
The United States of America lost credibility at home and abroad around the globe for a simple reason. The United States lost credibility because we fell away from the Constitution of the United States and US Founding Principles. It is because we fell for the trappings of Karl Marx and Liberalism. We fell for the trappings of democracy. We drifted away from Republicanism to democracy. Conservatism turned Populist. Conservatism is now a Populist cult in the United States of America and around the globe. We fell for the deception democracy and democratization are the chief US Foreign Policy aim and creates a peaceful, prosperous world for all of humanity.
I will emphasize what Forrest Nabors concluded in From Oligarchy to Republicanism (2017). Recovery of US History and our republican mission annexes a new greater power to "our existing stores of power" to serve the greater good of humanity. Our republican mission is to finish that great work of the Founding Fathers and Reconstruction Republicans. It is to dedicate and rededicate ourselves to the great "cause of liberty." It is to dedicate and rededicate ourselves to Republicanism. It is not a political debate of tyranny and democracy. The political debate is a political contest of competing political philosophies. Understanding the proper role of the United States among humanity around the world requires we reframe the question.
Do we continue on the course in a march for democracy, sentencing ourselves to step back into Feudalism and the dark ages, or divert and set our course correction to Republicanism, creating an economic climate and a political climate for peace, liberty, and prosperity for all everywhere across the globe?
Republicanism is the US National Interest. It is the global human Public Interest. Republicanism is the US Domestic Policy aim. Republicanism is the US Foreign Policy aim. The American Revolution was not even so much necessarily a revolution as much as it was a restoration. The American Revolution and resulting Constitutional Convention were a Republican Restoration. The US Founding was a Republican Restoration. US History and the US political process was and is to be a Republican Restoration that's to spread abroad and fill all of humanity across the whole globe.
We hold these truths to be self-evident. We are endowed by God, the Supreme divine Creator with certain unalienable rights. These divinely bestowed unalienable rights include life, liberty, property, individuality, and the pursuit of happiness. Government is divinely instituted of God among the people to secure these, our divinely bestowed unalienable rights. This is the definition of good government. Republicanism is good government.
A government that does not secure our divinely bestowed unalienable rights is divinely illegitimate and contrary to God. A divinely illegitimate government contrary to God is antirepublican. Lawlessness and Anarchy are divinely illegitimate and contrary to God. Lawlessness and Anarchy are antirepublican. Despotism and Anarchy are a great abomination in the sight of God, abomination he would destroy and end in the Millennium.
Article IV, Section 4 of the Constitution of the United States is the Republican Guarantee Clause of the Constitution. The US Government is to guarantee a republican form of government. The United States of America is a Republic, "one nation under God, indivisible with liberty and justice for all." Republicanism was, is, and will always be the US National Interest. Republicanism is an ensign to the nations. It is an ensign to all the ends of the earth.

"The government shall be upon His shoulder: and His name shall be called Wonderful, Counselor, The mighty God, The everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace" (Isaiah 9:6).
