5 年Given the significant recent flooding in Iran - and the damage caused - we have a very stark reminder of the crucial need for RAINWATER HARVESTING solutions, and of the community-based type - and especially in-lieu of costly heavy engineering approaches that can themselves cause other side problems. Let's hope (and pray) that authorities take note and significantly replicate and upscale rainwater harvesting solutions.?

6 年Another example of moving towards less capital intensive investment projects that have low overhead costs: as this rainwater harvesting approach proposes "small scale technologies to collect water where it falls"; once the large scale "water conveyance" engineering approach is changed for the small scale approach, there will be much more jobs and incomes for engineers in the longer term (as extended scale and diversification on the spot in many, many places replaces large scale conveyance in small numbers of places); and despite any objection of lack of economies of scale, there is significant multiplier effects involved.
