The art of work

It has been a while since our last chapter on attitude and as you can guess, lifevgot in the way. However, we are back and we are here to stay. In this chapter, we will be discussing the art of work.

Working is part of our existence here on earth. Understanding its importance is vital. In regard to this, there is a well known story of an old king surmoning all of his wise men and he asked to write down all of the world’s wisdom. He asked them to compile a volume that will be given as legacy to the posterity. The wise men left and worked for a very long period. They came back with twelve volumes and proudly proclaimed that all ages wisdom was contained in them. Th king looked at the twelve volumes and said: Folks, I am wuite sure that these volumes contain the wisdom of all ages and this is the knowledge we have to pass on to the posterity. Yet, it is too long. I am afraid that people never have time to read through of them; so please, reduce it all! Once again, the wise men went and worked for another long period and came back with just one volume. But the king knew, it was still too long and asked them to reduce it again. The wise men reduced the volume to one chapter, then one paragragh and one day they reduced it to one sentence. Once the old and wise king saw that sentence, he rejoiced saying: Folks, here is the wisdom of all ages; once all human beings would have learned this truth, I am sure that all of our troubles will end. The sentence simply read: THERE ARE NO FREE MEALS!

Yeah! Working is the foundation of all business; if is the foundation of fortunes and civilizations. It is the salt that gives its taste to life. But you must first love it before it grants you its grace and produces its best results in you. When one loves it, working makes life sweet, well ordained and fruitful. You really need to measure the efficiency of work in the construction of an achieved and successful life. Sometimes, we see people getting very much excited about a philosophy which promises them a larger part of benefits in life. They carefully listen to those who sing to them about the beauty, the effect and results of a good mental attitude, a good self esteem, well set goals, and all the positive aspects of that philosophy. Unfortunately, the practical application of that philosophy enters through one ear and goes out through the other. I would like to emphasize on the fact that: the most complete and perfect philosophy will achieve nothing in you if you are not doing anything. A wise man once said : education covers a lot of fields, but will never cultivate any of them.

You have to be conscious of the fact that, working is a universal remedy. The old and wise king was right; when men will understand that if they want their place under the sun, they muust expect some blisters, humanity would have evolved very much. Working tis the price to pay in order to ride the high way of success.
