‘Your success is determined by how smoothly you transition’- Grant Cardone.
We lose a lot of time to settle in and out of any place or situation which costs us a lot in our professional lives. Hence I try to make my transitions short and smooth each time.?
Our attachments to places, people, routine exaggerate how difficult it will be to transition and leave behind the so-called ‘essentials’ habits. Our fear and negative thoughts make the transitions rough.?
Most evidently it is noticed when your circle of friends changes. There is an instant change to the way one talks or discusses matters. Notice how people behave differently in different groups. This confirms that transition keeps happening very often.?
Each time I moved places it made me go through a subconscious transformation to my personality to an extent that I wouldn’t be able resonate with my earlier self when I reflected.

Then why do we resist or fear any big transition such as a marriage, moving places, job etc? Uncertainty…. definitely yes! But there is something bigger than that which makes this process difficult.?
It's the identity change we fear. The uncertainty of who we’ll become in the unknown situation and how we will react to it. The uncertainty is more about us rather than about the situation. Strange as it sounds, we limit ourselves because we know so little about ourselves.
One way I try to make any transition smooth is by deep and strategic planning. It is to be done for two major aspects:-
These questions give me clarity and define my short term goals which helps me to stay aligned. The uncertainty will still exist but it increases our level of acceptance. It equips us to handle any setback with a stable mindset. It provides us with a checklist to know when the expectations are met and how much to work to feel accomplished.
