The Art of Simplifying

Simplifying is Difficult. As Ruskin Bond said, “People often ask me why my style is so simple. It is, in fact, deceptively simple, for no two sentences are alike. …I have always tried to achieve a prose that is easy and conversational. And those who think this is simple should try it for themselves.”

It has always been a challenge to make things simple by removing the clutter around the core. Great scientists have always tried to make assumptions which cut the noise and make the core problem look simple.

The best teachers are not the most learned ones but the ones who can make the difficult concepts simple for their students.

Some of the most complex problems have surprisingly simple solutions. For example astronauts using pencil in space as a writing instrument, as pen won’t work.

As Bill Gates said — 'I choose a lazy person to do a hard job. Because a lazy person will find an easy way to do it.'

Being a Consultant I have always tried to make simple things difficult. That is how consultants make money. As Harry S. Truman said — 'If you can't convince them, confuse them'.
