Trude Bredholt: Sign, 2024
"I like this painting for it's raw movement and emotion. The brushstrokes feel bold and confidently loose, letting instinct guide the flow (I feel a certain kinship to this). The vivid intensity of the blue evokes raw energy that seems dynamic but also restrained. I like the contrast with the negative space—it makes me feel the emotions of being alive and introspective all at once. I'd love to place this on a large, blank wall for some understated drama."— Courtney Smith

"I'm simply drawn to this little figure, probably because they look quirky and a bit congested, which is how I'm currently feeling ??"—Courtney Smith
Andrea Scholze: Dystopian Jungle 2, 2021
"Alas, this piece has been sold, but I had to pick it, anyways (this is, after all, a wishlist). This piece makes me think of a diary entry, as if the figure were caught in an existential crisis. It plays with relatable, dialectical contrasts: simplicity versus complexity, humor versus melancholy. To me, it evokes loneliness and a bit of chaos, but oddly makes me feel at ease. It's weird, quirky, and carries an emotional honesty that is highly relatable."—Courtney Smith
