The Art of Problem Solving

The Art of Problem Solving

Got a problem?

Welcome to the club. We all go problems. That's common. What's uncommon is solving them.

How many people do you know who have settled into a default life of "It is what it is" thinking? They complain. They blame. They feed off of others' energy.

Don't be like them. Solve your problems. After all, you're 100% responsible for who you become.

The first step to solving a problem is accurately identifying it. Once you have named the monster, you can turn your attention to how it can be mastered. You do that by downloading everything in your head. Clear the deck. Make room for problem solving.

Then, after you have a clear deck, look at all you downloaded. How can you group the thoughts and ideas?

This week's blog post was about the 3P Method for discerning what you've downloaded. The 3P's are:

  1. People
  2. Process
  3. Patterns

If you can see where the problem is coming from - whether a people issue, a process (or systemic) issue, or a pattern - you can brainstorm options for dealing with it.
