?? The Art of Prioritization: Balancing Innovation and Customer Feedback ??

Let’s be real—being a product manager is hard. We’re constantly torn between the thrill of launching something new ? and the need to fix what’s broken ???. I’ve been in that exact spot.

When I built the B2B website for Mumzworld from scratch, I had big ideas ?? for new features that could really shake things up. But customer feedback was loud and clear ??—some things just weren’t working. It felt like a punch in the gut, but I had to face it. Do I push innovation, or focus on making the basics right?

Here’s what I learned:

  1. Sometimes, Flashy Isn’t What Matters ? We put aside exciting features to fix user pain points. The result? Happier customers ?? and a stronger product. It felt right.
  2. Frameworks Are Great, But Listen to Your Gut ?? Sure, we used RICE scoring ??, but I’ve learned that gut instinct and team energy ? often guide you to better decisions.
  3. Balance Is Everything ?? You can innovate ??? and improve incrementally ?? at the same time. Both are vital to moving forward.

Product management isn’t about always choosing the shiny new thing. It’s about making tough calls that bring value—and that’s not easy. ??

How do you handle the pull between innovation and customer needs? I would love to hear your stories ??♂?
