The possible futures of The Flexible Path Community.
The Flexible Path starts with current state assessment, clarity, strategy, skill development, employer showcases and a monthly member spotlight. I will be using a combination of courses, livestreaming video, 1:1 consultations, quizzes, polls, chat and office hours - there will be evergreen content combined with synchronous and asynchronous experiences. I've spent the last two years researching community and I'm bringing together the best I've experienced. I've seen networks pieced together using email, DM's, chat, Slack and social, Linkedin groups, I've used Heartbeat, Podia, Skool, Circle, Superwave and I keep coming back to Mighty. I just love the experience and the growth potential - it's a platform that makes sense to me.
I'm using Mighty Networks - check out this intro video from the founder of the platform. I'll be running events this week to preview The Flexible Path but if you don't want to wait, take a full tour of the platform presented by Mighty Networks.
Community is always a work in progress because we have to attract the right people and then tweak according to feedback. Community is co-created, never static.
The goal for this year is to attract a small following and customize according to need. I'm looking for people who are actively engaging to get the most of the platform - with such a range of content and different approaches, there will be something for everyone. Engagement means different things to different people but what I don't want is to attract members who are going to pay money to be passive. You can do that on social media for free:).
So what are the possibilities if everything works the way I hope?
Sponsorship.
With investment in the community, I can attract and pay guest speakers who can teach us the real skills needed for the future of work. Honestly, I could approach most of my podcast guests to appear in the community but when the community is paid, so should the speaker be paid. Sponsorship would allow us to pay speakers and attract the best.
A Network for Talent Development
By showcasing employers who are doing hybrid/remote well, we'll be building a pipeline for recruiting and talent development. Imagine having access to a community already trained to handle ambiguity, negotiation, job crafting, foresight and futures thinking? That's valuable.

Retreats and Experiments
Imagine learning about workations and digital nomadism within the community and having the opportunity to put that learning into action by participating in a real life adventure? Forget the office - let's test out what it's like to work while you travel.
A Conference
I've not seen a well designed conference in this space that I would want to attend as either a leader or an employee. I think there is opportunity but I don't know what this looks like yet.
Intellectual Property Licensing....a book, a certification, train the trainer, affiliates
This feels far in the future but possible. If the community is successful, how can we further amplify the message and learning?
The first step is to join. From there?
To infinity and beyond.
