The art of the pitch

The art of the pitch

This Spring semester I have had the opportunity to learn the experience that many entrepreneurs have faced before being successful. Thanks to my special topics management class I was able to attend many workshops that were presented by many successful entrepreneurs. In each video I learned something that will work for me in the future. The speaker that got most of my attention was Bjorn Simmons'. The art of the pitch presentation made me understand how important is to know how to treat people.

The art of the pitch video presented by Bjorn explained me that you have to put more effort that you possibly can when you want to start your own business. He explained that you have to find a problem that people have and then a solution that you will sell to people. He showed an example of a woman that had an idea of helping people. The woman in the video created a different solution to fight hunger and support people. This made me realize how important is to think of everybody and help them. Also, being the help for people can create your own business that will be for the good of others as well. Creating a work like this example will generate profit and also you will be helping people.

Next, I really enjoy learning how to get the attention of new investors. Bjorn, explained that in order to gain investors you have to explain them what your product is and how will it benefit others. Also, it is really important to be polite with all your investors. They have to trust you in every aspect so they can invest in your product. Not only because of the profit that your product is making they will invest, they also have to trust you in every aspect. There can be a huge profit in your product, but a bad relationship with one investor can make your business decrease.

Finally, He taught me that you must know every member in your business. It is important to know what they do and how they benefit your business. There is no reason to have one member that is not doing a good for your business. Also, if you do not treat them with respect they can do a bad to you in the future. Bjorn explained that is really important to have a good relationship with every member around your business.

In conclusion, I learned from Bjorn that good manners can be the most important thing that will help you with your business. Good manners can lead you to solve a problem for people by doing a good. The perfect example is the woman that is in charge of fighting hunger that Bjorn explained in his presentation.
