If you have read “The Art of War” for Sun Tzu, you will notice that this 2000 plus years book holds guidelines and methodologies still valid to influence strategies nowadays. Sun Tzu, a visionary who jumped over the fences of stiffness, played a crucial role in his country’s transformation. His manuscript made it through the years to reach the contemporary world and by that he applied what he preached “to win without fighting is best”.
Sun Tzu graded the martial arts putting in the highest rank military leaders who foil enemies; next best were those who ruin their alliances, next after those who attack them; worst were commanders who besieged their adversaries. It is accomplishing the most by doing the least way. If you want to develop a good strategy look for fat free outcomes and if you want to look fashionable adopt simplicity and if you are in a hurry drive slowly. Back to basics and simple routines always prevail.
In my humble opinion, Sun Tzu should have called his book “The Art of Peace” instead of “The Art of War” because when anyone understands the consequences of war, he will struggle to maintain peace.

9 年Thank you Raffaella for your comment. However, I think peace is the most precious gift nowadays , and the paradox of "The Art of War" is in its opposition to war. This book wars against war, It does so by infiltrating and changing the hearts of the enemy's troops. Thus, Peace.

9 年A really impressive opinion. I believe, however, that the purpose of the book is to overcome the enemy: is this the purpose of Peace? To overwhelm and to win?
