PERMISSION TO ACT

Let me share a personal story with you. Back in 2019, when I was just four years into running my gallery and studio in Chicago, I had this crazy dream. I wanted to curate a big national show. But man, oh man, those doubtful voices crept in. They said I didn't have enough experience, nobody knew who I was, and I lacked connections. They were kinda right, you know?

But you know what I did? I gave myself permission to go for it anyway. And you won't believe what happened next. In January 2010, I curated a massive exhibition called the National Wet Paint MFA Biennial. It brought together graduates from the top art schools in the country and put me on the map as a curator.

Here's the deal, my friends: every dream in your art career starts with pushing aside those voices of disbelief and giving yourself permission to go for it. So, what dream do you need to give yourself permission for today?

Remember, success comes from audacity and the courage to pursue what you love. So go ahead, grant yourself that permission, and watch your artistic dreams soar higher than ever before!
