Art of Networking and Relationship Building | Guest Speaker Zeeshan Shafquat Malik

In the first week of KNCT Fellowship, we had a guest session with Speaker Zeeshan Shafquat , Restauranteur Khybar Dodai, and Chai Mehfil, on The Art of Networking and Relationship Building.

The sliver line was "Networking is Money."

Zeeshan started with;

Why We Fail in Networking & Why We Fear Networking.

  1. First Reason

The first reason, Zeeshan said, is the lack of patience in listening to others.

He made his point by saying that we jump to conclusions so fast and distance ourselves from others.

Our patience in listening to others is minuscule, and we are always looking for a chance to brag about ourselves.

Mr. Malik gave the tip of learning patience by meeting with all people without any discrimination and agenda of benefiting from them. Just Listen to them.

  1. Second Reason:

We do not acknowledge ourselves.

We think that we have nothing to offer to others. We are not skilled and resourceful. So we assume people do not want to network with us for that reason.

Mr. Malik says that to overcome it we should write down the milestones we achieved and acknowledge them.

We cannot expect it from others if we cannot trust and value ourselves.

Zeeshan has this quote that goes

"Nothing can be achieved until you sort out internal conflict."

How to build the relationship?

  1. Empathy

Zeeshan has a quote

"Rigid People Don't Move Forward."

When you approach networking with empathy, you demonstrate a genuine interest in the people you meet. You take the time to listen actively and attentively, putting yourself in their shoes to grasp their concerns, aspirations, and challenges.

  1. Humanize Yourself

Humanizing yourself in the context of networking and relationship building is all about presenting your authentic self, making you more approachable and relatable. It's not about sharing your deepest secrets or life story with strangers, but rather about showing your genuine personality and connecting on a personal level.

Zeeshan highlights that we don't need to be flawless professionals at all times; people appreciate sincerity and authenticity.

Remember, the art of networking isn't just about collecting contacts; it's about forging genuine connections that can shape our personal and professional journey.
