The Art of making time for LinkedIn

The Art of making time for LinkedIn

More often than not it’s left down to the marketing department to be responsible for posting on LinkedIn, but it really doesn’t have to be. Any department can post on LinkedIn, any individual can engage on its business pages.

Perhaps you work for a company where you are often so busy that you just don’t think you can possibly commit to posting, regular, consistent content on LinkedIn? If this is the case then, reassuringly, content is easier than you might think - you just need to have a routine in place for posting and planning what to post.

Having a LinkedIn presence is crucial for any business. Why you may ask. Well, first and foremost it helps to retain your clients, keeping them up to date on the latest trends of the company, what they are doing and how their staff are performing. It also helps the business to grow. Say, for example. the business doesn’t have any new clients coming in - then the posts and connections made on LinkedIn can often start a fresh new relationship with a client.

The amount of revenue this platform can bring to the table is incredible. Current LinkedIn stats say that 51% of companies acquired a B2C customer through LinkedIn. 93% of B2B marketers consider LinkedIn to be the most effective site for growing your business.

Content

Making content consistent and having a plan will help: really deep-diving into your business trends, curating content even, or repurposing it. What works one week may be different to another, so analysing the data is important. A LinkedIn Marketing person can help you think outside the box. Getting someone in from outside the company is great for bouncing ideas off. In house people are too involved in the business and often cannot be objective, nor do they necessarily know what is currently trending or come up with new ideas. Trainers/Coaches often check to see what is out now or what is working for the algorithm and off the back of that can offer up the best advice.

Another point worthy of note, it is often wise to approach someone independent - as opposed to a big agency that charges significant amounts and is often working on behalf of teams of clients – that way they can provide you with the focus and attention you need.?There are numerous independent, highly talented people on this platform to talk to who will provide the business with the energy and brilliant advice you are seeking.

?Building relationships on LinkedIn is an art!

Building relationships on LinkedIn is crucial; making new connections, looking at who your ideal clients are, either current ones or perhaps even finding old contacts whom you haven’t engaged with for a while. Be very natural in building a rapport with them; find common ground, listen well - talk about them, not you. The conversation will then flow and who knows where that may lead. Remember to read their profile and hopefully, they will have updated enough for you to find something in common with them.

Engaging in posts is key!?

Try and get into a routine where you engage in posts every day and add value. Also make connections in the conversations within the posts, as this could be a way of making new connections.
