Art is like salt

... Or is that the fever talking?
This morning I woke up sick. Cough, aches, fever... super bummer all around.
Especially since it was my ONE day this week when I'd have all day to just paint and be in my own creative zone.
Instead, I laid in bed, soothing my pounding head with the gentle voice of Chris Do on YouTube while I faded in and out of reality. As the last video in my cue ended, I started dozing off. Then somewhere in the liminal space between sleep and wakefulness, an idea started taking shape.
Art is like salt.
Hear me out...
When used skillfully, salt makes all other ingredients in a dish shine and harmonize together. Its purpose is to elevate the ingredients that surround it. Even chocolate and dessert dishes taste better when a pinch of salt is added.
What happens when there's not enough salt, or it's been forgotten altogether? Everything tastes flat. There is something crucial missing; you may not be able to put your finger on the problem, but all the individual ingredients get lost; there's nothing to anchor them.
I feel like this is what amazing art can do for an interior space- make the other design elements in the room shine a little brighter and help them harmonize with each other. Without art, it feels like something is missing...
What do you think? Does this make sense, or is it all just a fever dream?

2 个月Merry Christmas,... What joy we bring...in art With 6.97 billion people out of 8.2 billion in our world population still reeling in the wake of investments by this dominant economic presence we call stakeholder democracy, this worldly, economic might, i must to wonder if we find ourselves on some pinnacle? Looking over the landscape(s) now, an overdevelopment of the natural world,... could answers we have sought for thousands of years and solutions we seek today, somehow erupt in our faces? Art speaks to that most spiritual nature in us all, bridging the gap between science and nature and the human condition, appealing to the humanity of men, and displaying man's morality(s). JOIN ME Join me, in ushering in some new age,.... some new age of understanding of most things.... both great and small.
