The Art of Healing: Take Back Your Power

Hey there and welcome to 'The Art of Healing' a spontaneous newsletter written by a healer for healers (and anyone open to healing).

Healing can come in many forms. It can be mentally, physically, or spiritually. It can take place overtime and on your own time, but not overnight. It is a continuous practice, a commitment you make to yourself to become a better version of you.

So now, silently to yourself: Are you committed to the process?

The process is long, tiring. It is not pretty, it is not always ugly, but it sure is exactly what you need in order to grow.

I like to look closely at the lifecycle of a butterfly. We all appreciate the beauty of black and orange wings fluttering around, but do we stop to think what she went through in order to fly?

In the same sense, do not rush the process. I repeat. DO. NOT. RUSH. THE. PROCESS.

Time is only but an illusion. It's whatever you think it is. If you think an hour is a long time, then it will seem like forever. But if you shift your perspective and see that time is what you make of it, you begin to flow with it, instead of against it.

Tip 1: Time is on your side.

Give yourself some grace. Allow yourself to sleep in. Schedule regular breaks. Intentionally savor the moment, sip your tea, and soak up the sun. No matter what your day looks like, make time to enjoy the little things.

Tip 2: It's about the little things.

Are you paying attention? Stop looking to the future, and focus on the present moment. So much beauty to be grateful for. Create a gratitude practice, start a morning routine, go for a walk, check on a loved one. Name 5 things you are grateful for right now.

TODAY I AM GRATEFUL FOR...

  1. Starting this Newsletter
  2. Meditation
  3. Fall weather
  4. Water
  5. Family

Now, check in with yourself. How did this activity shift your mood?

Tip 3: Be open to forgiving yourself and others.

Who hurt you? Think of their name or hold their face in your mind. Tell them you forgive them or energetically send out an apology to someone you may have hurt. Acknowledge the pain, feel it, and let it go. Breathe. Repeat as necessary.

These are all simply tips, take what resonates and leave the rest.

I will share a "Releasing Ritual" in the next edition of this newsletter. Hope you enjoyed this week's playlist :)

Overall, know yourself. Know your power. Know your worth, and never settle for less.

That's how you take your power back.

Sending love to you and anyone who needs it right now.

Stay safe & be well.

Much Love,

Samiyah Malik

This was such a great reminder to pause and be present. LinkedIn is often a space that cultivates the ongoing search for success or what is next. It is good to just pause and enjoy the journey. You will get there...

I love that you give us songs to accompany what you’re saying! It makes it easy to dive into my own feelings and thoughts. Can’t wait for the next one ??
