The art of a good layover
If you travel for business frequently, you’ll know that layovers are an unavoidable and often painful part of the journey. But this doesn’t have to be the case! There are a few exceptional airports that aren't just a waiting area for disgruntled passengers, 6 WH Smiths, and food courts with dining so dull, makes you miss your Nan's hotpot. So, in this week's eurochange times, we're going to share the five best airports for a business layover so you can do more than sip an Americano in Starbucks waiting for your boarding call.
Singapore Changi Airport (SIN)
Singapore Changi Airport is consistently ranked as the best airport in the world, and for good reason. Changi Airport provides an unparalleled layover experience, with a butterfly garden, a rooftop pool, a 24-hour movie theatre, and the world's tallest airport slide (a bit of a niche record). There are also a number of high-end shopping and dining options, so as crazy as it sounds, we'd recommend trying to extend your layover here.
Dubai International Airport (DXB)
With nearly 30 million passengers passing through each year, Dubai International Airport is one of the busiest in the world according to the OAG. It provides a one-of-a-kind blend of traditional Middle Eastern hospitality and modern conveniences. The airport has a luxurious lounge for business class passengers, a spa, and some of the best duty-free shopping in the world, Gucci, Swarovski and Dolce & Gabbana goodies are just some of the luxury brands you can get your hands on here. The airport's unique architecture and the world's largest airport flower garden add to the visual experience.
Incheon International Airport (ICN)
Incheon International Airport in South Korea is well-known for its striking design and cutting-edge facilities. It has a golf course, an ice skating rink, and even a casino where you can spend your leftover South Korean Won at the poker table. There’s also a cultural centre where visitors can learn about Korea's rich history and customs; The Museum of Korean Culture is located in Concourse 4F and houses The Great Dharani Sutra, one of the oldest printed texts in the world (among other ancient artifacts).?

Hong Kong International Airport (HKG)
Hong Kong International Airport is one of the busiest airports in Asia, but it also has a plethora of amenities to make your layover a pleasant one. A 4D cinema, a live music venue, Waterfall Gardens, and a crystal elevator housing numerous works of digital art are all available. The airport's design includes a large central atrium as well as even more impressive art installations.
Munich Airport (MUC)
Munich Airport in Germany is a hub for Lufthansa, but it's also a destination in its own right. The airport offers a beautiful beer garden, an ice skating rink, and a mini-golf course. There's also Sleeping Pods for travellers who need some shut-eye, and the airport's architecture is both modern and stunning and the place is packed full of German culture.
So, the next time you're on a long business trip, treat yourself to more than just a sandwich and a few rides up and down the escalator. Make a beeline for one of these 5 airports and you'll wish your layover was as long as Tom Hanks' in 'The Terminal'.
However, while these airports provide a luxurious layover, it’s always best to avoid exchanging your travel money there at all costs. By exchanging with eurochange rather than at the airport, you can save an average of £172 when exchanging £1000, so make sure you’re pre-prepared for your big trip!
